Northern California Steelhead Fly Fishing Report

Journal - 2017

The first two days of January were the only two days fishable in Southern Humboldt County this month. When we were down there the fish scores were high during some of the coldest winter steelheading conditions I have seen on the California Coast. This fishery will be a good this season, I can't wait to get back down there when the water conditions shape up. The rain has been steady on the coast keeping us confined to fishing the Smith River for the month of Janurary. With very little rain in the extended forecast after Janurary 24th, Northern California will be the place to be fly fishing for winter steelhead during the month of February. There are still a few dates open for the month of February, these dates won't last much longer. Contact Mark at 530-321-7452 to book a trip.
